Where to start, I am a nursing student just trying to get my degree and FINALLY start doing what I really love to do. Once I graduate I would like to start working in a pediatric oncology unit, hopefully the unit I am currently working in because I absolutly love it! I am the type of person who is always up to have a good time and just get out and try something new. I love being outdoors when the weather is warm, even sometimes when the its cold. I was born and raised a country girl, growing up on a farm you really learn the importance of hard work, and that is something that I can really appreciate in the person that I am with. I really enjoy traveling, although I don't really get a chance to do a whole lot of it, but even just having a day off and going on a short road trip is fun for me. As for a relationship, there obviously has to be chemistry! If there isn't that spark how is there supposed to be a relationship? Being able to communicate is another priority. I like to be able to have a converstion with someone and not feel like I am doing all the talking. And I really feel that there has to be simaliar interests. I know that people say opposites attract but lets face it, you have to be able to do things together otherwise, what do you have? Okay, so my name is Alison, and yes, calling me Ally or any of its variations will most likely get you the death glare at best or a decent beating at worst depending on who you are. There are a few of you who can get away with it, but I do not suggest trying it if you are not sure...

I am currently a graduate student at Valparaiso University studying Chinese (ugh! shoot me!) I think I will probably end up working with education at one time, either that or I am going to do a total revert (please no one have a heart attack) and get back into theatreDamn the real world sucks, I should have never tried to make something out of my life, now the banks own my soul.

As for education, I have a Bachelors degree in Biology and Chinese, with an Asian Studies minor. I have been in school for biology and Chinese as a focus since high school. In order to rest my brain from the pain of foreign language I am involved in theatre again, lord help me. I was involved in theatre for many years, then took a break from that world, and have, as of late, realized I cannot live without it!

As for job experience, I worked at the library for three years to fund my undergraduate education, and consider myself to have been at least half-way decent at my job (and I am a harsh judge, so consider me excellent). I have also had web design experience at a company with questionable morals, with an even more questionable probationary period. I dabbled in teaching for a semester, by teaching Chinese to two elementary school classes. It was a real pleasure to run into students at a Family Fun Night at my undergrad and have them actually remember some Chinese. I have also had some experience with teaching english, waitressing, assisting in a nursing home and being a tour guide at an archaeology museum. Between these and my education, I think I have everything covered. How's that, future employers who may be reading this?

In my free time I enjoy attempting to web design, graphic design, and make animations (I say attempt since I have no programs besides those the computer came with). I also enjoy reading, and watching TV and movies. I love just getting out of the house and walking around the state and public parks. Believe it or not the trails at Petrified Springs are more enjoyable than they look at first glance. I like fishing, catch and release is fun. Sometimes it is just nice to sit at the lake all day relaxing. I love camping, I'd do it anytime, anywhere, any season. I can't wait for good weather so I can plan a trip for the weekend.

In terms of what I expect from this site. I am not really sure. I know that I am just here on a whim, and may never come back, but you never know. I am looking for someone approximately my age, between 20 (but at least above 18) and 35 (although, closer to 30 is preferable). I prefer another academic, or at least an academically minded person, who is willing to do dorky things like go to museums, aquariums and zoos and be able to spend the entire day there! I am crazy. I love movies. I have the brightest wardrobe of anyone I know, you practically have to wear sunglasses to look at me. Im a pretty fun person I like to roller skate shop hang with my friends go to movies swim things like that. I am looking for friends and long term relationships.

Here's the situation: I'm a bit of a dork. I like comic books, I run multiple role playing game campaigns, I can quote cheesy science fiction movies left and right, and I make puns frequently. I get together with friends and watch bad b-rated movies to make fun of them, and watch most science fiction movies in theaters with them as well.

Last year, I even won the D&D Championship with a roommate and three friends from Canada (hence our name, 3/5 Canadian).

About having children, I would say I'm looking for someone that will happy with one or happy without one. I'm leaning towards not having any.

I have some things that you have to be able to deal with. You have to know that I clean as needed. If you can put up with that, then that is good. I am also very family oriented! I love kids, and I do want them some day, if the right guy were to come around, and I was sure that the relationship was strong enough to bring children into the picture. There are alot of broken familys, I don't want mine to be one of them.

I enjoy many things. Books: Cookbooks LOL (I love to cook!!!). Theological literature, Fantasy somtimes, but I gotta be in the mood for that. I like creepy psycological books like Sybil, Hanniable, ect. Music, anything, I'm very eclectic when it comes to musical preferances, I'll listen to anything that I think sounds good. It can be anything from opera, rock, rap, ANYTHING! Movies, X-Men, Underworld, RENT, Vanity Fair, Ever After, Hairspray. Food, anything! I always say that I'll try any food item once, except for fugu, If I even spelt that right LOL.

Music is a big part of my life, i love music and many different genres. I love sports and everything involved with them. I'm really into sports and video games. For sports, I follow all of the Wisconsin teams, but I am a huge of Packers(especially Brett Favre) and am a bigger fan of the Milwaukee Brewers as baseball is my sport of choice. Other than sports and video games, i like hang out with my friends at a bar sometimes. I am, for the most part, not a big drinker, but i can be at times. I do like to travel when i get chance and sometimes i do it spontaneously.
